Highly Recommended for anyone looking for a fun and light devotional

Summary (from the back of the book): With her own brand of off-beat wit and near-wisdom, inspirational humorist Debora Coty addresses heart needs of women worn down by everyday fears – financial, health, relationships, loss, pain, the unknown, the what-ifs—both real and imagined.  With fresh spiritual insight, Debora shares hope, scriptural lifelines, and a few LOLs along with simple, practical tips for sidestepping fear with faith (and a fistful of chocolate).

My thoughts: While this is Debora Coty’s 4th book, it is the first of hers that I’ve read.  The premise of this book appealed to me, as I am someone who is prone to worrying.  I found Fear, Faith, and a Fistful of Chocolate to be absolutely delightful and a great help in allaying fears!

Coty is quite entertaining, she’s the sort of person I’d like to hang out with at Starbucks.   think there is a danger when talking about fears and anxieties to go too much in one direction, either too humorous or too gloomy.  Coty is able to walk that fine line with ease.

This book can either be read as a devotional on a personal level or in a group as a group bible study.  As I was reading this for review, I usually read a few chapters a day.  However, I’m putting this book back into my rotation for devotionals so that I can read it again at a much slower pace.

If you are dealing with worries and anxieties and looking for some spiritual guidance, I highly recommend Debora Coty’s Fear, Faith, and a Fistful of Chocolate.
