Saturday Snapshot 03.02.2013

I'm linking up again with Alyce at At Home with Books for Saturday Snapshot!

To participate in Saturday Snapshot: post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky at At Home with Books. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

I absolutely love this picture of my daughter!  I know that she's going to grow to be a reader, although I'd really like to get her off the Disney stuff.  Sigh!

  1. Disney has the same appeal as junk food...in your face amazing flavor. It causes serious addictions among children and maybe that's not a bad thing.

  8. You can't go TOO far wrong with Disney...in moderation and balance. :) I was definitely raised in the cult of Disney, and like to think I turned out fine. Get her into Belle--she's the coolest one--and a reader!

  12. No worries, she'll move on when she's ready to explore new stories! I love seeing youngsters get bitten by the book bug! It does this old teacher's heart good!

  13. Mm, that brings back good memories of when I was growing up, my parents also started us reading the Disney books: remember them coming every month, and getting to put them up against some sort of blue plastic bookholders... But my parents also cleverly bought other fairy tale books as well, and eventually I realized those stories allowed more imagination on my part because of more characters.

I don't even remember when we switched to the Scholastic Book Club instead, but it also was better because it followed me through the grades, and my mom so "generously" let me pick all the books I was interested in with no limit, but I had to read all of them before I could order again.

This is also the same mom who would take us to the "Teacher's Store" so we could get supplies to "play school".

    Anyway, super sweet picture!
