Saturday Snapshot 04.13.2013

It's Saturday...and time for more snapshots with Alyce from At Home with Books!

To participate in Saturday Snapshot: post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken and then leave a direct link in your post to the Mister Linky at the host site.  Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see.  How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you.  Please don't post random photos that you find online.

So, let's go back to my Arizona pictures!  One of the place we always take the kids is the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson.  Since we have a membership with the Oregon Zoo and both zoos are in the same network, we get free admission to the the Reid Park Zoo.

This zoo isn't as large as the Oregon Zoo but, because we are in vastly different climates, they have many animals that my children can't see at the Oregon zoo.

A colorful parrot (or toucan?)

I think anteaters have to be some of the most unusual animals I have seen!
Another animal we don't have at our zoo: a tapir!

My children each had the opportunity to feed a giraffe--the was the highlight for them!

And I think he's still hungry!

  1. I love going to the zoo! So much fun!

  2. The close ups of the giraffe are stunning - such gorgeous animals :-)

  3. I love the close-ups of all the animals! What a fun trip!

  4. I've been to that zoo! I was born in Phoenix and have family there. I also love the Oregon Zoo, but yeah, it is really cool to see different climates and animals!

  5. What great photos and I love the giraffe! I bet your kids did too. I haven't been to the zoo in a long time. Hope you had a terrific day!

  6. I want to feed a giraffe! :) The bird reminded me a bird that my boyfriend's boss used to have, and the bird would say things like "shut up" and curse words he picked up from the guys there (it was a warehouse). I imagine the one at the zoo had better manners!

  7. How fun! I would love to feed the giraffe too! :)
