Saturday Snapshot - August 31

To participate in Saturday Snapshot: post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky below. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

Last Saturday, we took the kids to the beach for the day.  Originally it was going to be a camping trip, but we decided to bail on that idea after seeing the weather report.  In the end, the weather was fine and we probably could have camped--except when we went to see what would have been our camping spot, we realized that it was too wooded for our tent (we have a rather large tent).  So, in the end it was probably a good idea we just did a day trip.

We drove to Newport, which probably took us about 2 hours.  Our two main stops were the Oregon Coast Aquarium and a walk on the beach--which ended up being a rather short stroll as the kids were pretty wiped after the Aquarium.

I'll have the pictures from the Aquarium next week, but I thought I'd start with these two.  The first is an instagram of the mist coming in over Depoe Bay as we drove through.  The second is the sunset as we drove home.

  14. If I could take a photo of excessive heat and humidity, I would. Blue skies abound in Louisiana right now. Luckily we have football to distract us!

  15. Love the mist in the first one and the sun in the second one, but I sure don't like driving with the sun glaring into my eyes which it often does.

  16. I love the mist coming in! We went camping with a 40% chance of rain and it did rain! We should have stayed home. It was a muddy mess.
