Outside the Book 09.22.1973

First off...

Happy birthday to me! Today is the big 4-0 for me and, no, I have no inclination to jump off the nearest bridge.  I really don't understand why people are so freaked out about this particular milestone!  I mean, we only reach it if we're lucky enough to live that long!

But, anyway, I'm expecting this to be a very quiet day...which is just the way I like it!

I have decided to scale a few things back on this blog.  Frankly, doing an "Outside the Book" and a "Raising Readers" post every week just isn't going to happen.  So, I'm going to do one of each post each month.  I would rather do fewer, but more in depth posts than a bunch of lightweight posts.

I've been sort of slammed with reading lately.  I was reading, and just finished, a book that I found rather difficult.  Honestly, if it weren't for a book tour I don't think I would have finished it.   I also have 2 other books for review that are coming up shortly, plus the read along for The Book Thief.  I doubt I'll get to the 2nd set of questions for that--things are just too busy right now!  The good news is that things slow down once I get past this patch.

Finally, I've been working on a number of writing pieces for several places, one of which is a new blog for me.  Mostly, it will contain posts that don't fit in on this blog.  You can find it here...please check it out (right now there are only 2 posts on it, so there isn't much to plow through....).

Phew...okay, the next Outside the Book post will be October 6th, which is my sons 3rd birthday!  Why do I have a harder time with my kids' birthdays than I do with my own?

  1. I hope you had a happy, happy birthday!! 40...whew right? I'm hitting that milestone in February. I'm not upset about it or anything, it just sounds weird, lol.

  2. I hope you had a wonderful day and have a great year!
