Saturday Snapshot - December 28

To participate in Saturday Snapshot: post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky below. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

While I have a lot of pictures from Christmas, most of them are of my kids!  Let's just say it was quite a celebration here!  Still, I have a couple of pics to share.

Because our kids are still quite young and they like to unwrap things, we didn't put any presents under the tree until they went to bed on Christmas Eve.  Here is what was waiting for the kiddos on Christmas morning:

I took this picture today when my daughter and I went to the library.  It was just cold enough for some frost, but only in the trees.  I thought it looked absolutely magical, but I still don't think the picture does it justice!

And that's it for this year!

  1. Your Christmas tree looks beautiful. I bet your kids were so excited. Your outside picture is wonderful too, so different from what I see on my trips to the library.

  5. Even though my kids are older now, teens and 20, we still put presents under the tree on Christmas Eve so they are surprised in the morning. It's just more fun. Here's Mine

  6. Aw, I love Christmas decorations appearing magically under the tree...and even if you didn't fully capture the snowy trees, that still looks magical too!

  8. Your tree is really tall and gorgeous! I do the same thing with the gifts, not putting them out early but in our case it is because we have a beagle basset hound puppy ;)

  9. What a beautiful tree! And it looks like you must have had a wonderful Christmas morning. I included some photos from our Christmas also.

You are so right about capturing the beauty of snow or ice covered trees. I discovered the same challenge recently. Your photo DOES look very pretty, though.

Hope you are enjoying the holiday season with your family!

  11. Oh what beautiful trees ... a Christmas tree with presents underneath is always so magical. As for the camera not doing justice to the beauty of 'the shot', I know what you mean. Our eyes see so much more than the lens of the camera ...

  12. My husband and I celebrate Christmas at his parents' home. So, we're always surprised by our gifts. :-) This year, their dog sniffed out some of his presents and so they had to show extra vigilance. Even gifts from my family are a surprise, because I keep their parcel packaged until my phone call with them. It's more fun that way!
