Saturday Snapshot - January 25

To participate in Saturday Snapshot: post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky below. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

I was trying to find some older pictures on my husband's computer to make some back ups this afternoon and I came across all our 2007 honeymoon pictures!  We had a FANTASTIC honeymoon!  My husband had a sabbatical from work and I took a leave of absence and we spent 3.5 weeks traveling around Europe.  Since my Saturday Snapshots of late have been, well, uninspired, I thought I'd spend a few weeks (well, months--as this will take me through April) showing some--don't worry, not all--of our honeymoon pics.

The first stop on this little tour is Bergen, Norway.  We flew from Portland, to Newark, to Oslo and then caught a train to Kristiansand.  If I had it to do over again, I would have had us stay in Oslo that first night, but oh well.  We pretty much just spent the night in Kristiansand before heading over to Stavanger.  I'm not sure why, but we have very few pictures from Stavanger--quite a shame as it is a lovely city.  The first place we have with any substantial pictures is Bergen.  We spent a few days there and our first full day just happened to be my birthday!

To celebrate my birthday, my husband booked us on a Fjord cruise!  Luckily, it had some covered viewing as it was raining off and on all day.

In Bergen, you can take a funnicular up to peak overlooking the town.  I highly recommend it!

And what would a Norwegian visit be without a troll grabbing your behind????

This was a lovely church--I think it was St. Mary's, but I can't remember.  I would have loved to go in and look around, but there was wedding going on.
Next Saturday we'll be in Oslo.....
