Right now, I'm reading:
Vanessa and Her Sister by Priya Parmar (I'm not especially familiar with Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury Group, so I'm hoping that this book is written so that people like me can follow what is going on.)
The Snow Queen by Sarah Lowes, (Reading this one with my daughter, it was one of her the books I gave her for Christmas)
The World's Strongest Librarian by Josh Hanagarne (This is my January Book Club book--I've been meaning to read it forever, so I'm glad it got on the club's docket this year!)
Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm by Philip Pullman (Yep, still chugging away on it...very slowly. Of course, this is really a book that can be read in little nuggets and savored, so it's all good!)
Pioneer Girl: The Annotated Autobiography by Laura Ingalls Wilder (Another one I'm chipping away at. I'm thinking that I'll probably read this twice....first I'll read it going through all the footnotes and then I'll just read LIW's text. In any case, this is one I'll be working on for quite some time!)
Right now, I'm listening to:
Podcasts. I was getting close to being caught up, then I added Serial and Welcome to Night Vale into the mix. Audiobooks, though, will definitely be back on the docket once my daily commute to my daughter's school starts up again.
Last week, I read:
Amherst by William Nicholson (review will be posted February 10)
Last week, I put aside....
How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell (notice I did not say I DNF'd this book. I was enjoying this book, but my daughter wanted to read the books she received at Christmas, so we're going to put this one aside for a little while and come back to it later.
I'm hoping to continue my level of reading this week while I can. It is what vacations are for!
