Uhhhh....I'm alive! Barely, This week just about killed me. Last Saturday was my daughter's birthday...then we all go the stomach flu...then I had the "friend" party this past Saturday...and then I spent a good chunk of Sunday afternoon helping my daughter sell Girl Scout cookies. I'd love to sleep for a week, but I'm kicking off the week with a trip to the dentist. Things just get better and better...
Honestly, I'm just glad that things are supposed to start calming down now. No surprise I didn't have much reading time this week, but I'm hoping to get back into it this week.
Right Now, I'm reading:
I'm still chipping away at this one. It is actually turning out to not be quite what I expected, and that is not necessarily a bad thing. I'm really curious as to how it turns out (and I'm forcing myself not to skip ahead to the end!)
This is my first title from Penguin's First To Read Program. So far, it is quite good--although I'm not a big fan of the app I have to use to read the e-galley (Bluefire). Oh Amazon, why do you have to be so proprietary over all your kindle stuff? My life would be so much easier if I could read this on my paperwhite!
Confession: I probably read about 3 pages of this one this week. Oh well..I don't need to have it done until the end of March when my book club meets to discuss it.
No progress on either of my audio books this week...sigh!
Last week, I read:
Bluebonnets for Elly
by Sandra Nachlinger
As I said, since I sort of know Sandy through this blog, I'm not going to do a formal review (I'm a little biased!). But I will say that I found this to be a delightful little romance. I especially liked the Grandmother! Trust me, she is quite the scene stealer. Oh, and I know women just like the HOA president. Grr.... Anyway, I would highly recommend it if you need something light and heartwarming. (Click on the title to go to the Amazon page).
So, that's it for now. Wish me luck as I enter normal life again this week....
