It's Monday, What Are You Reading? / #FitReaders Check In - March 7, 2016

Welcome to another week!  This past week was one of those out the ordinary weeks--it was slightly busier than usual during the week, and then we had to make a sort of spur-of-the-moment trip out of town this weekend.  It was a bittersweet trip--I won't go into the bitter, but you'll see some of the sweet over the next two weeks in my Saturday Snapshot posts.  We actually just got home and I'm rushing to put this post together so that it will be ready for its scheduled publishing time.

This was not a great week for me goal-wise, but that was really to be expected so I'm not beating myself up over it....

March Goals
1. At least 81,000 steps/week
Sunday, 2/28 - 10,296 steps (4.63 miles)
Monday, 2/29 - 7243 steps (3.25 miles)
Tuesday, 3/1 - 11,029 steps (4.95 miles)
Wednesday, 3/2 - 5366 steps (2.41 miles)
Thursday, 3/3 - 8953 steps (4.02 miles)
Friday, 3/4 - 4945 steps (2.22 miles) Travel Day - Most of it was spent sitting in the car!
Saturday, 3/5 - 7070 steps (3.18 miles)
TOTAL: 54,902 steps (24.66 miles)

2. At least 2 dedicated workouts
Another big nada here

3. Complete the #FitReaders Virtual 5K at some point this month
I'm planning to do this later this month when I go to where the sun DOES shine!

Right Now, I'm Reading:
Somewhere Out There by Amy Hatvany
I'm actually starting this one TONIGHT and I'm so freakin' excited I could pee my pants.  Amy Hatvany is one of the few writers whose books I preorder months in advance and read as soon as possible once they arrive.  I'm pretty sure there will be ugly crying aplenty--there has been in all of her other books, so why not this one?  I actually should be reading a book that I agreed to review...but, screw it, this is Amy Hatvany!  Everything else can wait!

The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty
Sigh....to DNF or not to DNF?  I'm just not loving this one...but I'm about halfway into it and I am at least interested to see how at the least the Munro Baby Mystery plays out.  The rest of the book is rather annoying, to tell you the truth.  I'm going to try to finish it, but my guess is that, once I'm done, I'll regret that I didn't put it aside

A Slip of the Keyboard by Terry Pratchett
Yep, still plugging along on this one!   My book club will meet to discuss it at the end of this month and, at the rate I'm going, I'm not sure I'll be finished.  Oh well....

Right now, I'm Listening To:
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
That's it, I'm convinced that this is a book you should only listen to.  The recording is great and, because you listen to it instead of read it, the flaws in the book aren't as apparent.

Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow
So, I'm back at the beginning, thanks to the phone upgrade from hell.  I'm going to have to make time for this one to get back to where I was, much less actually finish it!
