Saturday Snapshot - September 8

To participate in Saturday Snapshot: post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky below. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

If you have been following my blog for a while, you know that my daughter and I are very busy with her Girl Scout troop.  As the girls have gotten older, we've been trying to do more outdoor activities.  Our goal is to do one outdoor activity a month, something that we started in July.  That first outing was, well, not quite what we expected...only because we only had 2 girls.  Of course, we still had fun...I dragged my son along (he had some energy he needed to burn off) and we went for a hike in Cooper Mountain Nature Park.  It's near our house, but we had never visited it.

It was an amazing short (but not exactly easy) hike.  The views were amazing and, as it is the sort of place that changes with the seasons, I think we'll be visiting it several times a year.

This is a device to hear wildlife in the woods.  It also can make you look like you are an old man!

View shot!

It was a HOT day for our hike, but the kids were troopers!

Another view shot!
